Reunion
We visit a life we both left behind
We know the heart
Move to the ever-moving
Or, blazin', we go over
And over and over and over again

If I wait too long, I lose you from my sight
Maybe tonight
I could stop dreaming
And start believing in forever
And ever and ever and ever again

Reunion, reunion
Reunion, reunion
Never not ever, never not ever again

And it's burning inside 'til you give it up
How long should I wait?
There's no need to hide, I let
Only you in here

There's an end to us with someone else inside
You shine your light
There goes that feeling, won't let me see them
Never not ever, never not ever again

Did I see you see me in a new light?
Did I see you see me in a new light?
Did I see you see me in a new light?
Never not ever again
Did I (Never not ever) see you (Never again)
See me (Never not ever) in a new light? (Never not ever again)
Did I see you see me?
Never not ever, never not ever again

Mature Themes is a self-produced affair, with former member Cole MGN drafted in to provide some drum programming and additional mixing duties. Far removed from Ariel’s early bedroom recordings, the sardonically titled Mature Themes reflects a more collaborative process, with the often-overlooked virtuoso musicianship of the band bought to the fore. "There are definitely not any links to my lo-fi origins”, Ariel recently told Spin magazine. “It's so diverse but so different from anything I've done before. In a sense, it’s really the record I wanted to make back when I made Before Today, but couldn't. We had time to let our hair down and try new things."

While the creative process was new, familiar Ariel Pink signatures remain. In fact, Mature Themes feels like the definitive Haunted Graffiti record, a patchwork of modern America, its esoteric reference points and moments of lyrical lucidity a twilight excursion through backwater LA and late-night TV channel hopping.

My heart will never feel
Will never see
Will never know

Oh, heart
And then it falls
And then I fall
And then I know

My heart will never feel
Will never see
Will never know

Holding on
I am a vagabond
It’s always different
I am the one who falls

1. Joe Bonamassa
Out of all the people on this list, Joe Bonamassa is probably the most successful modern blues guitarist in the past twenty years. Bonamassa has been playing the blues since he was a little kid, catching the attention of B.B. King when he was only 12 years old. Joe and producer Kevin Shirley have used the young guitarist's inspired blues guitar playing as a springboard to incorporate other genres as well, most notably heavy rock music, like the 2009 hit “The Ballad of John Henry.” When Joe performs live, his two most impressive blues numbers include the Jeff Beck cover “Blues Deluxe” as well as the acoustic “Woke Up Dreaming” which tend to go on for up to ten minutes with just Bonamassa and his guitar alone on stage.

2. John Mayer
Who would have thought that John Mayer would turn out to be such a blues aficionado when he first appeared on the music scene in 2001 with his first album Room For Squares? Many music fans dismissed Mayer as yet another singer-songwriter catering to broken hearted teenagers. But as Mayer's career progressed it became obvious that he was actually a blues man at heart, especially from his appearance at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2004 where he preceded his song “City Love” with a very inspired four minute blues intro built around Jimi Hendrix’s “Machine Gun” riff. Speaking of Hendrix, Mayer approaches the blues in the same way as the late guitarist did, fretting the bottom note of barre chords with his thumb, and embellishing the chords like Hendrix on “Little Wing.” If you're not familiar with Mayer's blues antics, a good place to start is the John Mayer Trio album Try! from 2005, where Mayer play alongside bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan.

3. Jack White
If there ever was a modern blues purist, Jack White is it. White uses a minimum of effects, and goes the vintage route most of the time. His setup is little more than a guitar plugged straight in to an amp, aside from an occasional fuzz pedal or some pitch shifters that he would use a lot in his work with The White Stripes. It might not be obvious on the surface, but The White Stripes were essentially a blues band. On their first album they covered the Robert Johnson penned “Stop Breaking Down” as well as the folksong “St. James Infirmary Blues.” Once you catch on to their blues roots, it becomes obvious that it defines everything The White Stripes did, and all that Jack White has done since. For example, listen to the excellent “Will There Be Enough Water?” from Horehound, the first album by The Dead Weather.

PENDERECKI'S 'THRENODY FOR THE VICTIMS OF HIROSHIMA' COMES TO SWEATY BASEMENT CLUB IN LONDON Radiohead collaborator Krzysztof Penderecki’s work for 52 string players to be performed at XOYO as part of Nonclassical’s summer programme.

London classical music clubnight Nonclassical will return to XOYO on April 26th with a programme exploring extreme instrumental sounds from the 1960s alongside contemporary electronica.

The lineup includes Krzysztof Penderecki’s ‘Threnody For The Victims Of Hiroshima’, recently covered by Jonny Greenwood and Aphex Twin, played by 24 violins, 10 violas, 10 cellos and 8 double basses, Gyorgy Ligeti’s ‘Lux Aeterna’ for 16 singers (featured in Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey), Xenakis (scored for six players and 44 drums) alongside Nonclassical/Clean Bandit DJ sets and a 2 hour headline set from Soma’s Alex Smoke. The very nice flyer is below.

Nonclassical is a club night and UK based label founded by composer Gabriel Prokofiev in 2003. The Nonclassical record label has also released 13 groundbreaking albums to date.

Krzysztof Penderecki wikipedia
Krzysztof Penderecki (Polish pronunciation, born November 23, 1933) is a Polish composer and conductor. His 1960 avant-garde Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima for string orchestra brought him to international attention, and this success was followed by acclaim for his choral St. Luke Passion. Both these works exhibit novel compositional techniques. Since the 1970s Penderecki's style has changed to encompass a post-Romantic idiom.
He has won prestigious awards including Grammy Awards in 1987 and 1998 and 2001, and the Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition in 1992. He has been called Poland's greatest living composer.
As well as the works already mentioned, his compositions include four operas, eight symphonies and other orchestral pieces, a variety of instrumental concertos, choral settings of mainly religious texts, as well as chamber and instrumental works.

Uncontrolled wikipedia
Uncontrolled is the 10th studio album by Japanese pop and R&B musician Namie Amuro, released on June 27, 2012. The album was released just before her 20th anniversary concerts — one in Okinawa in September, and seven across Japan in November and December 2012. The album consists mostly of songs sung in Japanese, however this was the first album of Amuro's to feature several songs sung entirely in English.
The album spent three weeks at number one on Oricon's albums chart, making Uncontrolled the second album of Amuro's to do this after Best Fiction (2008) spent six weeks at number one. The album was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. This is her fifth consecutive number one album since 2007, and her sixth consecutive double platinum album since 2005.

Selected Ambient Works 85–92 wikipedia
Selected Ambient Works 85–92 is an ambient techno album by Richard D. James under the pseudonym of Aphex Twin. This is his third release and debut studio album under this alias. It was released in 1992 on the Belgian techno label Apollo. An analogue remaster was released in 2006, and a digital remaster was released in 2008. Selected Ambient Works 85–92 is considered by many to be the threshold album in modern ambient music as well as one of the pioneering works in intelligent dance music and electronic dance music.

Structure
Although Selected Ambient Works is primarily instrumental, many of the songs feature vocal samples. "Xtal" has samples of female vocalizing as well as alternating ambient sounds, both repeated intermittently throughout the song. "Tha" has clips of several people talking, while "Actium" has samples of what sound like squeaking shoes in a hallway. "We Are the Music Makers" features a line of dialogue from the movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. "Green Calx" contains samples from RoboCop: the dinosaur's popping eyes during the 6000 SUX TV ad, the ED-209 robot trying to go downstairs without success, and the sound of RoboCop browsing faces of criminals in the police archives computer. "Green Calx" also contains a faint sample of the vocal from "Fodderstompf" by Public Image Ltd, as well as from the opening titles of John Carpenter's 1982 film The Thing.

Reception
Allmusic claims that while "the sound quality is relatively poor," the album is "a watershed of ambient music." David M. Pecoraro of Pitchfork Media calls it "among the most interesting music ever created with a keyboard and a computer." Rolling Stone called the album "majestic," and the Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll claims the album was received by critics as "an ambient masterpiece comparable to work by The Orb and Brian Eno." Warp Records has billed this as "the birthplace and the benchmark of modern electronic music" and has stated that "every home should have a copy."[13] In 2003, the album was placed #92 in "NME's 100 Best Albums" poll . The album was also featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

Ancient Future is the second collaboration between composer and visionary pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto and electronic pioneer Christopher Willits. Built around a series of piano pieces that Sakamoto sent to Willits after the release of the duo's first record together, 2008's Ocean Fire, the six tracks that make up Ancient Future are entirely instrumental—and yet, they speak about the very essence of what it means to be human.

As a whole, Ancient Future functions as a piece about the creation, acceptance and completion of one's fate and all of life's experiences, following a trajectory through inner conflict, resolution and, ultimately, acceptance. The six-song cycle moves through a narrative of sorts, each piece with a story to tell and an aspect of life to explore.

The album opens with the restless energy of "Reticent Reminiscence", an energy that subsides into the introversion of "Abandoned Silence" and "I Don't Want to Understand" and, eventually, the cold disassociation of "Levitation". A certain warmth returns with "Releasing", its guitar arpeggios like washes of sunlight, and the album's journey finally resolves into closing track "Completion", a piece that's full of quiescent tranquility, perhaps reflecting the experience of finally coming to know oneself.

Despite its conceptual coherency, contradictions lie at the heart of Ancient Future, as the album title might suggest. Even within the confines of each track, opposing forces are at play—loops of static and feedback provide the backing for delicate melodies that develop and evolve like ripples on a placid lake. And yet the contradictions never feel like conflicts—instead, the diverging elements come together to create something with its own internal logic, perhaps reflecting the way that we are all the sum of our experiences, both light and dark, positive and negative.
